Boston – November 13, 2013 – sharalike, a start-up that makes fully integrated, sophisticated image management and videographic tools instantly available to all users across all devices and platforms, announced its first round of seed funding. Angel investors have blessed the sharalike launch with a $600K round, raised by the company in less than three weeks.

According to HIS iSuppli Research (October 2012), by 2016 1 billion users will store personal digital content on the cloud. We can easily assume that 80% of this content will be images and video. Today, it takes 3 to 5 online services to store visual content, sort and enhance it, create an album or slideshow with it, and share and discuss it within private or public social networks. Adding music to visual content is even more challenging. And, much of current content is exclusive to only certain devices.

Sharalike, home of SmartSelection and the SmartShow, has simplified and resolved this entire range of challenges. Using cutting-edge image management and innovative videographic technologies, the sharalike platform enables automated, yet fully editable and customizable, automatic image sorting and enhancement, slideshow creation and animation, videography – and music – in one SAS model. With its built-in file storage, multi-device (computer, mobile, tablet) synchronization, and full integration with many storage services, sharalike makes private and/or public sharing via social networks available for all users.

“We are taking tons of great pictures and videos but we are all looking for an easy way to manage this tsunami of images. And we want to share them in a beautiful way that replicates the essence of our memorable moments and places,” said Aymeric Vigneras, CEO of sharalike. “Now, using our SmartSelection technologies, we can store, sort, select, create, add audio content – and let the magic happen anywhere and anytime we want. Everything that used to take frustrating hours, now only takes few enjoyable seconds. We at sharalike believe we have truly created videography for all.”

About Sharalike’s Founders

Sharalike was founded in 2012 by two serial entrepreneurs, Aymeric Vigneras and Etienne Leroy who were looking for a simple online solution to store and manage large image collections, as well as a fresh way to share their content. Knowing the average user is overwhelmed by the huge number of images s/he creates everyday via cameras and smartphones and the difficulties and time required to manage and share them, Aymeric and Etienne envisioned a radical transformation for the image (and music) collection management process.
